  • At our 90-minute virtual call, you can expect to have an open and honest discussion about your baby or child, their growth and development, their sleep patterns and current challenges.

    We’ll talk about normal expectations for sleep at your child’s age, what impacts sleep and what you’d like your child’s sleep patterns to be.

    Then after this call, you’ll have your 1 or 2 weeks of follow-up support to make sure the plan we’ve put together really is working - and make changes depending on what’s going on.

What Ages Do You Work With And Other Questions You Might Have

  • I work with families who have children aged 6 months to 6 years.

  • No, my services aren’t covered by insurance. However, you might be able to use your HSA card to pay for services.

  • ​My pediatric sleep knowledge comes from a combination of personal and professional experiences. Not only am I the mother to three children, who all needed some level of sleep training, but I have also helped many families accomplish their sleep goals as a sleep coach since 2014. I completed the Family Sleep Institute's Child Sleep Consultant certification course in 2015 and maintain my certification through continuing education credits that I earn annually.

  • In addition to maintaining a pediatric sleep certification, I have 13 years of experience as a pediatric nurse and a previous lactation counselor certification. I use the knowledge I've gained from these experiences and my personal sleep training experiences to develop a sleep plan with families they are comfortable with. I provide education on sleep and the support and guidance that parents crave to help them reach their sleep goals.

  • I strongly believe that consistency is more important than the actual sleep philosophy you follow. That is why I use all sleep training methods and will never push a family to use one particular method over another unless their parenting style or child's temperament conflicts.

  • Unfortunately, there is always some level of crying during sleep training. Sleep training involves changing your child's routines around sleep. Since crying is how babies and young children communicate, they will cry to let you know they don't like the changes. However, I do my best to minimize the amount of crying through schedule adjustment, correcting sleep debt, and using gentle sleep training methods.

  • ​Preparing for the consult:

    Decide if you and your partner both want to be present for the consult (for scheduling purposes). Will you consult when your child is awake or sleeping? Will there be interruptions? If so, it's best to consider having someone present to tend to your child so you can devote your attention to the consultation. You may want to take notes during the consultation, but keep in mind that you will receive a written, fully detailed sleep plan, so note-taking isn't necessary.

    Preparing for sleep training:

    You will be asked to start the sleep plan within one week of your consultation.

    You will need to devote a minimum of 2 weeks to sleep training which includes providing a consistent sleep environment for your child. Please do not start a sleep plan if you will be travelling/taking a vacation within 2 weeks.

    It is best to start a sleep plan when you will have off of work for a few days (i.e. the weekend) or be free of important engagements.

    House guests during sleep training are fine as long as you will be able to be consistent and follow through with your sleep plan.

  • Accomplishing your sleep goals is about consistency and following through with the plan. I give you the tools and the guidance, but ultimately you have to do the work. It is for this reason that I do not guarantee my services. I can report, however, that all the parents who followed the sleep plan met their sleep goals.
